The book exhibition and felicitation ceremony for meritorious students,
organized annually by the Mahatma Phule Public Library, Udanwadi, was held under the
chairmanship of MLA Dr. Ganpatrao Deshmukh. This event has become a highly anticipated occasion
in our community, bringing together people from all walks of life who value the importance of
education and literature. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and pride as students,
parents and dignitaries gathered to celebrate the achievements of the young learners.
I make it a point to attend this event every year because the young students who receive awards
at this ceremony often inspire even the elders. When a student from the 5th or 6th grade reads
around 200-220 books, it truly becomes an inspiration. It’s heartwarming to see how the love for
reading is being nurtured in these young minds, encouraging them to develop a deep thirst for
knowledge. The eagerness and curiosity displayed by these students remind us of the importance
of fostering a reading culture in our society.
In this program, meritorious students excelling in the 10th and 12th grades, oratory
competitions, various competitive exams, and different sports competitions were felicitated.
Their hard work, determination, and perseverance were recognized and it was a moment of great
pride for their families and the entire village. The felicitation was not only a recognition of
their achievements but also a motivation for others to strive for excellence.
The library, which houses over 11,000 books, plays a crucial role in promoting literacy and
knowledge in our community. The book exhibition, open for the next three days, is an incredible
opportunity for everyone to explore a vast range of subjects, from literature and history to
science and technology. Such initiatives help in building a strong foundation of learning and
provide a platform for people of all ages to broaden their horizons.
